Isa Orlović was born in 1939 in Novi Žednik near Subotica. He comes from a large family, the fourteenth child of his father Ilija and mother Petka. His carefree childhood abruptly ended in 1941, when, along with other family members, he was expelled by the Hungarian occupiers and lived as a refugee in Croatia under harsh wartime conditions until 1945. Upon returning to Žednik, the Orlović family endured pressures from the communist regime and lived in very difficult conditions until 1952. Because of this, he was forced to leave his schooling in Subotica and, together with his entire family, emigrated from Serbia to Croatia. In Rijeka, until 1962, he managed to study medicine for two years. The third exile led his family to France, where he continued his medical studies but again had to abandon them due to financial difficulties. Thanks to his good ear and musical talent, he built a successful career in the piano industry, becoming a respected piano tuner and dealer. He founded his own family, marrying a Frenchwoman, Lucy Maraval Orlović, with whom he had four children. His work as a piano tuner took him to America, New York, where he earned great trust and recognition, continuing this profession until the end of his career. He lived in America for Twenty-four years. After successfully concluding his career in New York, he returned with part of his family to France, and finally to Serbia, settling in Novi Sad, where he spends his retirement documenting the life journey of the Orlović family and his personal story. He also visits his birthplace, Novi Žednik. His first book, The Power of Will (Publisher Miroslava, Belgrade), was dedicated to his father in 2018.
His second book, Prasvemir (Publisher Prometej, Novi Sad and Banja Luka, 2021), belongs to the realm of science fiction.
The life path of the author, strewn with thorns and roses, experiences and conclusions, is encapsulated in his third book of poetry, Spiritual Sea, published in 2022. A great humanitarian and benefactor. Out of love for his people and life in general, he selflessly donates all his works to readers, the Lika Association, other organizations, schools, friends, and acquaintances.
